Ambleside Quilt
Finished Quilt Size: 47″ by 56″
Even though we’re still in the middle of fall, and the weather is starting to turn cold, I’m already dreaming about spring… spring colors, and spring bloom! I’ve just finished my latest quilt, which I actually started last winter and haven’t completely finished it until now, the following fall. How did it take me so long?! But it’s done now and I love it! It’s a simple quilt made up of classic 4-patch blocks. As much as I can appreciate a quilt with hundreds and hundreds of patchwork pieces, my favorites are always the classics. Simple quilts with simple designs, and the main spotlight shining bright on the beautiful fabrics itself.
This quilt is made with the designer fabric line “Ambleside” by Brenda Riddle Designs. Floral prints in vibrant colors – I’m so in love with it! It’s so soft and feminine!
Here are some more photos of the new quilt!
Here are some of the work-in-progress photos from my sewing table. I love all the color that these beautiful fabrics brought into my workspace.
Some pretty quilt binding to finish it all off.
Looking pretty for the photo shoot.
A closer look at the pretty backing and binding. The backing fabric is filled with these cute little red rose buds! So in love! This backing fabric is available here: Moda Ambleside Little Posies Linen Quilting Fabric
And last, but not least, cat on a quilt. Of course he thinks each quilt I make is a gift just for him. Well, he’s not entirely wrong. I do enjoy seeing him enjoy my quilts! I love making my kitties happy! 😊✨
I really hope you like this quilt enough to want to make one yourself. I’ll be working on a tutorial for the quilt pattern soon. Stay tuned, folks!
Happy Quilting!
Susie 🤗💕
Suzanne Modesitt - Are all of your quilts made with the quilt as you go method?

Susie - Hi Suzanne, no not all of them are quilt as you go method. Most are made by traditional piecing. Thank you so much for your kind words. It means so much to me!March 6, 2019 – 12:29 pm
Megan - This is beautiful! I’d love to make something similar for my Mother in law. March 6, 2018 – 6:07 am
