It’s my niece’s 2nd birthday and something special was in order! She’s may be getting her own room soon, so I wanted to stitch something up for the new room! This adorable little fox would definitely be cute for the wall or on top of her drawer or cubby.
I used DMC’s 14-count aida cloth in oatmeal color. For the embroidery floss, Amazon has a very inexpensive variety pack of 105 colors. Here’s the link to this variety pack that I used: Premium Rainbow Embroidery Floss – Cross Stitch Threads. The package includes a set of free embroidery needles!
How much do you love the little feathers on top of the fox’s head? And the tiny leg warmers! Ahh! So funny and cute. I can’t stand it!
I tried an 8″ x 10″ frame. I thought it might have too much space around the fox. What do you think?
Here it is in a 5″ x 7″ frame. I ended up choosing this smaller frame size and without a mat.
I’d love to know what you think. Do you typically use a mat when you frame your finished cross stitch projects?
Kira - I’d love to make one for my niece!September 10, 2018 – 9:48 am
Kay - This is really cute. If I am framing something small like this myself then I don’t usually use a mat. If I am getting something larger or very special professionally framed then I tend to go for a mat, or even two or more, as I am spending a lot of money in the first place then I want it to look amazing. xJune 3, 2018 – 11:47 pm
