This pattern works in rounds using double crochet throughout and single crochet at the end. You may use any color you would like but if you want this exact look, here are my yarn colors:
Yellow: Simply Soft Sunshine Yellow
Blue: Simply Soft Berry Blue
Black: Simply Soft Black
Gray: Lily Sugar ‘N Cream Overcast Gray
White: Lily Sugar ‘N Cream White
Hook Size H or as recommended by your yarn of choice.
Note: To change colors, do not fasten off. At end of a round, simply hook in the new color at the beginning of the next round. To alternate colors between rounds, pick up from the previous round. Continue alternating in that manner without ever fastening off or cutting the yarn until the very end. Approximate measurements are provided for each size and each varies according to yarn weight and how tight or how loose your crochet style is.

MINION EYES!
For Sizes Newborn and 6M, only ONE eye will fit on the beanie. For Sizes 12M through 4T, you can choose to put one or two eyes on your Minion beanie.
Foundation Ring: Using Yarn Color Black, Ch 6 and join with sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: (Black) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 13 dc into ring, sl st into top of first ch 3. (14 dc total)
Round 2: (White) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc into same st. 2 dc in every st thereafter, sl st into top of first ch 3. (28 dc total)
Round 3: (Gray) Ch 1 (counts as first sc), *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in following* Rep * until end of round, sl st into top of first sc. (42 dc total) Leave a very long tail with the Gray yarn. Pull gray yarn into a tapestry needle and sew the eye(s) on the hat. Be sure to place the eye(s) along the black band on the beanie. I sewed one stitch into each single crochet stitch around they eyes in order to attach to beanie. So 42 stitches total to attach an eye, fasten off and weave in the ends.
MINION HAIR!
Their hair is so sparse that it only requires four pieces of yarn tied in knots on top of their head! 😂😂😂 Each strand is just 1″ long.
