Over the next few months (and beyond), I’m going to be blogging a lot about my niece. She’s in the oven right now and is due in June. I am so excited about her arrival that lately, all I want to do is start baby projects to give to her when she’s finally here. Here’s my latest gift for her. A crochet baby blanket.
A soft gray blanket body with baby blue scalloped edges, trimmed with a pretty white ribbon all around, and finished with a little bow.
Here’s Tesla Cat trying to play with the ribbon when I was trying to attach it to the blanket. The more I moved the ribbon, the crazier he became. I just had to set it down and step away… (and reach for the camera instead).
Here are some more detail shots of the blanket.
I really like this stitch pattern. There are slits in between each stitch groupings, so it’s not as dense as it looks. It’s still considerably light in weight and absolutely snuggly soft! My niece Kayla will definitely keep warm wrapped up in this cuddly blanket.
My favorite part of this blanket is the scalloped edging. Look at those cute little scallops! Oh my goodness!
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. It’s a new month and the weather is great. I hope to have many more new projects to share with you!
Thanks for stopping in today!
Susie :)
If you want to make your own, I’ve written a tutorial and shared the pattern here! Scallop Trimmed Crochet Baby Afghan Pattern Enjoy!

Cathy Buskirk - If I make this bigger will the border still work?April 19, 2019 – 6:54 am
Susie - Yes, it will! For the border, just keep going around with the same sized shells. :)April 19, 2019 – 10:40 am
