I am so in love with this floral wreath with a little bird in it! As small as it is, it did take me almost a month to complete! I work full-time outside of the home so finding time for craft projects has been a bit of a challenge. But we have to MAKE time for things (and people) we care about. In my case, I’ve made more craft time by just sacrificing sleep time. I have tried all sorts of time management strategies but they have all failed. I am working full-time, have a growing and curious boy to keep an eye on, two very mischievous cats, and 1 very messy hamster! There is no additional time! So… forget sleep! I need crafts to keep me sane!!! I have been waking up at 4:30am every day just so I can have 2 full hours of uninterrupted craft time. Do I really need 8 hours of sleep? Hmm…
This pattern is from Susan Bate’s Cross Stitch book called: Cross Stitch Mini Motifs: Flowers: More Than 50 Mini Motifs I love all of her work!!! I am already working on another pattern from her book! Of course, pictures to follow when I finish!
As for this little birdy, it is a gift for someone that has always inspired me to “let my creativity rain.” The one and only Jera Brandvig from Quilting in the Rain, author of Quilt As-You-Go Made Modern: Fresh Techniques for Busy Quilters and Quilt As-You-Go Made Vintage: 51 Blocks, 9 Projects, 3 Joining Methods. I love her work!!! She has her own fabric lines as well and all of which I have hoarded and stashed away. It’s just too pretty to cut up!
This is on its way to her now. I hope she receives it soon and will love it as much as I do. 💕 Hooray for happy mail! 📦✨
