I’ve been experimenting this week with crochet baby shoes. I’ve come up with three different patterns and I will be sharing them with you here as soon as I take all the photos! Of the three patterns, this one here is my favorite. It’s so simple and super sweet. I love how delicate and feminine it looks. It’s a very basic design (less is more after all), embellished with a tiny ribbon bow.

Here’s a pair with little ribbon flowers and teeny, tiny pearl beads. Eeeeeek! Aren’t they adorable?!
So, here’s the pattern and tutorial to follow so you can make them too!
Materials
- Lightweight Baby Yarn in cream color
- Crochet Hook size G (For those of you with super human vision and can notice that the hook in the picture is Hook Size F, ignore it! These photos were taken during the experimental stage! It’s the same pattern, I just found that Hook Size G gets better results!)
- Ribbon flowers or Ribbon bows (You can get these on Amazon – Pack of 100 mini bows.)

Shoe Sole
Round 1: Ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next 7 chs, then 5 sc in last ch. Working back from the other side of your chain, 1 sc in next 7 chs, 2 sc in last ch. Sl st to beg sc. (22 sts total)
Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next 5 sts, 1 hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in last 2 sts. Sl st to beg ch-2. (30 sts total)
Round 3: Ch 2, hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 12 sts, 2 hdc in next 3 sts, 1 hdc in next 12 sts, 2 hdc in last 2 sts. Sl st to beg ch-2. (36 sts total) Do not tie off. Continue on to make the sides and toe of the shoe.
Shoe Sides and Toe
Now you will start to work in actual rounds, as in, you will no longer sl st at the end of each row and begin a new row. Once you come to the end of a round, you will make your next st ON TOP of the st from the previous round in a continuous manner. It is helpful to use a stitch marker to help you mark the beginning of each round. For me, I use a safety pin!
Round 4: Ch 2, 1 hdc all around. (36 sts total)
Round 5: 1 hdc in each st all around (36 sts total)
Round 6: 1 hdc in next 12 sts, dc2tog 6 times, 1 hdc in last 12 sts (30 sts total)
Round 7: 1 sc in next 12 sts, dc2tog 4 times, 1 sc in last 11 sts. (28 sts total) Tie off and weave in ends.
Embellish the Baby Shoes!
I used the already-made bows and flowers found here. They are tiny, cute, and easy to just stick on. But you can totally just cut some ribbon and tie it on yourself! It’ll be super cute either way!
Aren’t these just so sweet? It makes me smile just looking at them! Well, this is the first of many baby shoes to come! I don’t know what got into me, but I just couldn’t stop making baby shoes! (No, I’m not pregnant – I wish!) I’ll have more patterns for you later this week. I’m working on writing out the patterns so check back soon!
