He dressed himself for the occasion. (The very important occasion of grocery shopping.)

You’re finished! Ta-da! You’ve completed one crochet granny square!
Make a few more to create a bunting banner or garland. Make a whole lot more to create a granny blanket!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Happy crafting!

My cousin Cindy is having a baby! Always an exciting time when the family is expecting its newest tiny member! I’m so thrilled that she’s going to be joining the mom club! It’s a pretty awesome club.
Her due date is in April, but I got an early start on the baby gift so I can give it to her for Christmas next month! She actually lives in Thailand and is flying in for a cousin’s wedding and staying through Christmas. Exciting!!!
It’s going to be a baby girl! I wanted something that looks and feels soft. I chose to make a white crochet blanket, trimmed with a pretty purple ribbon.
I’m so delighted with the outcome of the finished blanket! So flowy and drapey (are these real words?)! I sure hope baby loves it.
Scalloped edges. My favorite finishing for a blanket.
A pretty bow, for a pretty little girl.
Of course, as soon as I finish any blanket, Mr. Poofs comes in for quality control.
If you would like to make this afghan for your loved one, I’ve written a tutorial and pattern for it here! I hope you love it!
Thanks for letting me share! :)

So pretty! Thank you!April 8, 2019 – 10:23 pm
I chose this Afghan to make for my granddaughter due this July. I haven’t crocheted in about 20 years. And I am very happy with the way it came out. I put pink rink with bows on each corner. My daughter was quite thrilled with the blanket. We love it! Will be making more for some other expectant Moms. It was easy and finished fast. Thank you for sharing the pattern ❤️April 9, 2019 – 12:12 pm
Hi Audrey, thank you so much for writing to me! I’m so happy to hear the blanket turned out nice and congratulations on the new addition to your family! 😊October 15, 2018 – 9:31 am
I’m making this for a cousins baby as well in April but with blankets it will take me awhile. I sure hope I dont get bored with this blanket! I want to send a finished blanket picture? How do I do this?October 16, 2018 – 9:56 am
Hi Angela, I hope you’ll enjoy making this blanket and keep on it until you finish! If you have an Instagram, share your finished blanket picture by tagging me @loganberryhandmade. Can’t wait!! 🤗May 21, 2018 – 8:44 am
I have made your blanket used white yarn I always use Caron simply soft it’s inexpensive and softer than baby yarn. I used pink ribbon it’s an easy pattern was a very big hit at the baby shower especially since great grandma made a Granny square blanket with the roughest yarn I’ve ever felt. Everyone loved my soft pretty one. The older generation I think still uses the red heart regular yarn it’s not very soft every time I make baby something everyone asks and comments on how soft it is. Thanks for sharing!October 7, 2018 – 6:46 pm
What size hook did you used? Thank youOctober 8, 2018 – 2:07 pm
Hi Lilana, I used crochet hook size H :)
What i particularly LOVED about your pattern, is that i clicked on the picture – it took me right to the website and right to the pattern.
I didn’t have to go through 10 websites to find it and then scroll through the website to find the actual pattern -or get directed to etsy or pinterest only to find that the pattern is unavailable. It was very simple and i REALLY appreciate that – as well as you sharing the pattern. It is very beautiful.

I love to knit and crochet and do charity hats and blankets for hospitals and Red Cross. Thank youJuly 30, 2017 – 9:18 am
Hi Barb, love that you’re doing that kind of work for charities! 😊
As Christmas is just around the corner, it gets me thinking about how I want to decorate the house this year. Of course, every year, I want a completely handmade Christmas! I love all things handmade and I love Christmas! A completely handmade Christmas just makes sense! But I never have enough time to make all the things I want to. Or things take much longer than I expected and as Christmas gets closer and closer, I panic and I abandon the projects. I don’t know why I put that kind of pressure on myself. It’s a trait I hate most about myself and I hope to overcome that one day. But it’s happened every year, and every year I tell myself to get an earlier start but it never happens. Here I am again this year, still haven’t gotten started with Christmas crafting. Hopefully, this post will get me motivated to start today!
Two Christmases ago, my family was invited to join my brother’s fiancee’s (Molly) family for the holidays at their home. It was so wonderful! All the decorations were handmade by Molly’s mother, including the Christmas tree ornaments, stockings, and little cookies. I dug up the photos so I can share this with you today. Everything was so extraordinary and it would be a shame if these amazing little handmade ornaments weren’t shared with the world.
I loved how the presents were wrapped in brown paper, tied with red yarn. Simple.
Little handmade gingerbread man made of gingham fabric. I want to try to make this little guy.
Little burlap heart ornament. The tree also had burlap ribbon strung around it. It was beautiful.
Logi and I made these little candy cane reindeers and brought them over for everyone. It was a cute craft for him (age 3 at the time) but he cried every time an eye or nose fell off. Which was like, every 2 minutes.
I really liked the reindeer sugar cookies made with pretzels and m&m’s. Genius.
Handmade Christmas stockings hanging over the fireplace! I hope to make some Christmas stockings this year. I’m thinking of crocheting them.
This is one of my favorite photos of my family, mainly because my mom’s smile looks so sweet. She was excited to be getting a daughter-in-law soon! By the way, she made that crochet Santa hat herself! It cracked me up when she pulled it out of her bag and put it on.
Ok, I’m going to start on some Christmas crafts now and I’ll share them as I complete each one.
Thanks for letting me share!
Lots of love,
Susie :)
