I had some extra time just before Thanksgiving to crank out a quick project . My computer workstation needs a new mat under it, mainly because my optical mouse doesn’t work unless there’s something under it, like a mouse pad. But I’ve always found mousepads to be too small and restrictive. I want to be able to move my mouse anywhere on the table… therefore, I need some kind of mat that will cover the entire table. So I made one!
It starts with a few favorite charm squares of favorite prints and favorite colors. Hues of purple and blues, and CATS!
Within minutes, I’m on to quilting it together. Have I told you how much I love straight-line quilting? So therapeutic.
Top 3 favorite prints: Cats with antlers. Weird, right? But I like it.
The lone blue rose.
And cat eyes and cat whiskers!
The fabric for the quilt backing is just beautiful and matches my color theme of the front.
Ta-dah! The finished mini quilt for the workstation! Now I can work while looking at my pretty mini and my mouse will work anywhere I need it to. Work place happiness. 😊✨
